"Kiwanis" is not a secret word. The name is derived from an American Indian term meaning "to Make oneself known". To members it connotes personal growth and fulfillment through expression of the true self.
Kiwanis is not a secret society or a political organization. Nor is it a religious movement, although it honors the great religious teachingsand fosters high moral principles.
Actually, the secret of Kiwanis is widely known. It is a formula for success based on the remarkable enthusiasm of good people for a good cause undertaken in good company.
That's why the Kiwanis Club of East York links fellowship and philanthropy... caring and sharing.
